Role Overview:
We are looking for a talented Failure Analysis Engineer who will be responsible for conducting failure analysis and identifying the root cause of electrical, mechanical, structural, optical, and thermal defects and failures. This position strongly partners with various teams. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad technical background with the ability to work with reliability, R&D, and a wide variety of suppliers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish failure analysis process and procedure 
  • Perform root cause analysis and use a wide range of techniques and expertise to tackle challenging issues with components, modules, and systems
  • Responsible for root cause identification for failures seen in reliability testing, design validation, and product validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to recreate failure modes that are intermittent or hard to replicate
  • Design and execute experiments to test theories 
  • Cross-correlate data from different tests and drive towards the conclusion
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities and support containment/corrective/preventive actions
  • Write comprehensive failure analysis report and communicate findings with project teams and management

What you have:

  • BS or MS in electrical engineering or related field
  • Must be hands-on with 5+ years of professional experience
  • Must have a broad range of engineering knowledge and expertise
  • Experience with the root cause and 8D methodology
  • Knowledge of various failure analysis techniques and tools used for semiconductor components, electrical components, optics, and sensors like X-ray, CSAM, thermal imaging, FIB, SEM etc.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining a solution
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and organization skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong and creative problem-solving skillsMust be able to work independently
  • Experience with Matlab and Python
