Role Overview:
The regulatory Compliance Engineer will be responsible for evaluating products to ensure they will meet applicable regulations including EMI/EMC, low voltage directive, product safety standards, compliance, certification, and global market access. The candidate for this position must have expertise and experience in automotive EMI, EMC, ESD, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, and Safety standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Standardize and harmonize regulatory compliance approach for Aeva products
  • Establish guidelines and best design practices to mitigate compliance issues early in the design phase
  • Participate in mechanical and electrical design reviews
  • Guide compliance during design and development, verify compliance through validation testing and debug
  • Identify and interpret regulatory standards and requirements for LiDAR systems
  • Work with 3rd party labs to test and validate systems
  • Debug and root cause failures during tests and assist the team to implement corrective design actions
  • Set up a lab environment to pretest regulatory compliance
  • Research and track applicable requirements related to worldwide regulatory certification labeling and ensure Aeva products remain compliant with current regulations

What you have:

  • BS or MS in electrical engineering or related field, minimum of five years working with Safety and EMC compliance labs to certify products
  • Expert in the US and international regulatory compliance schemes, standards, and requirements for Automotive
  • Must be highly analytical and demonstrate teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in submissions for official certification through relevant compliance bodies such as FCC, CE, UL, TUV, laser safety, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging, EMC, EMI, HiPot, ESD, RF, and Safety certification/testing

  • LiDAR experience is a plus
