Role Overview:
Aeva is seeking to hire an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our growing team! This individual will be responsible for qualification and reliability modeling for Aeva’s LiDAR systems. They will be a key member in design reviews and provide guidance to internal teams, suppliers, and CMs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist with qualification of equipment that is essential to the validation of design reliability
  • Execute (hands-on) stress testing, setup hardware and equipment for tests,  and analyze the resulting data
  • Actively monitor the status of parts under test and equipment used
  • Capable of applying DOE concepts to identify critical to reliability parameters and create robust evaluation plans based on them
  • Collaborate with failure analysis and R&D team to determine corrective action
  • Identify opportunities for risk reduction to improve product reliability
  • Develop new analytical tool
  • Summarize test data, perform data analysis, and prepare test reports

What you have:

  • Data analysis experience with Matlab and Python. 
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, DAQ systems, power supplies and other benchtop EE equipment.
  • Basic understanding of EE principles 
  • Ability to follow instructions and setup test equipment for functional and performance testing of system and subsystems 
  • Interested in testing and keen eye for details 
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques 
  • Enjoy trying new technologies and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Eager to learn various tools used to evaluate product reliability risks

Nice to have:

  • Experience with statistical techniques to analyze test data and create estimates for failure rates
  • Knowledge of acceleration models for common failure
  • Experience with reliability equipment and thermal chambers
  • Basic understanding of git and bitbucket
  • Understanding of the hardware development process
  • Exposure to optical concepts and optical design
  • Experience in report writing and maintaining detailed documentation
